therapeutic
last week was a therapeutic one for me. i hung out at debster's house during one of the weekdays' afternoon. we went for supermarket shopping and bought ingredients for our lunch. we went back home to cook together. we whipped up a big pot of chinese- styled soup and cheesey sausages! writing now makes me hungry. eevoon joined up soon. we chatted and chatted, it was simply therapeutic!
went for a quick drink at macs with dewen after our durian feast with some of my cg peeps on last sat night. it was again therapeutic.
(ohh, durians are therapeutic too! you go "ahhh..." when you chew on the yellow flesh covering the tiny brown seed. *ps. its R21 for livi. unlike me, she has the other extreme sentiments towards durians)
we did a little catch-up on his happenings in west, thanked God for the ess, ranted about my work, blah blah.
it was therapeutic hanging out with friends. i used to think that i'm okay without much friends or fellowship (i was young and think that i'm superwoman, dont really need friends). mans was i wrong to think like that. as i read the Word, i was often amazed at the depth of friendships described in it.
to celebrate the end of Clique Here, lets celebrate the gift of friendships around us! cheers!

Gugliemucci's faith
i was very captivated by his story, by his faith.
it challenges my own faith to truly believe and proclaim God's power even when i do not see things happen yet.
for Michael, two years of battling with cancer can be be a tough- going journey. especially, i could imagine countless of defeated thoughts of doubts flew past his mind in these two years.
it takes a perservering Michael to cling onto the faith that he had two years ago. it requires our faith to be tested under trials and proven strong.
Michael do not know when will he be healed. this calls for our faith to be persistent - keep on believing, keep on asking.
why do we keep believing?
simply because.......
God has everything in control.
1 Corinthians 10:13, No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
God knows what's best for us.
Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God is with us.
Matt 28:20, And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age

"...It was a night of unified faith and expectancy, with moments all will never forget such as when Michael Gugliemucci, who has battled his own health crisis against cancer for two years, walked confidently on stage, oxygen tank in hand, declaring the promise of God and boldly singing the words to his song 'Healer'..."

a teacher in us
I remember my teacher that year, Mary D. Barbour, with fondness. She was tough, serious, demanding. But she was also quick to affirm progress and reward initiative. She must have intuited my uniqueness because she chose to teach into it rather than against it. I responded by giving her my best.
Every once in a while in the course of my education—both my Christian and my public education—along came a teacher (like Mary Barbour) who sensed my complex ways. Somehow she or he knew how to redirect me and cause me to give my best. They were the true teachers, the real disciplers, and I remember every one of them by name. Their fingerprints are all over me to this day.
there were many of us who may not be a teacher by profession. yet, we have the potential to be a teacher to someone in our lives. it may be your current juniors in your schools, it maybe your younger siblings or cousins in the family, it could even be your kids in future.
there will definately be a chance that you will teach them from your life experiences.
people can learn from your happy experiences - it will lift their spirit and heighten up their faith as well.
your painful experiences can be a good coach - it will keep a man humble in his ways.
at this, i want to thank many teachers since growing up.
growing up isn't easy for me. yet these people play an important role to nurture me.
i would not have come to know the Greatest Love if Aunt Jane is not here with me.
i would not have enjoyed my sunday school so much if teacher Lucy gives up calling me.
i would not have learn the Word if Nicole did not meet me every thursday 730am Bugis Macs in my first 2 years in Youth.
i would not have a chance to be a careleader if Elaine did not train me.
i would not be in programming team if Jasmine did not apprentice me.
my faith and vision would not have grow if Shirley did not inspire me and trust me with tasks, sometimes i think its really beyond me.
Thank you, beautiful teachers :)

in the mind
she said something that offered me a fresh perspective:
imagine if jesus sits beside your desk everyday in office...
this will help me to do my best to keep my mind pure at work.
