It started with a mouse

last thurday i had a slow and relaxed night at orchard library doing my usual reading. took a business book on Walt Disney. Walt Disney has been a very successful company. It has made its name a familiar household name. its like Coca cola's vision- everyone has to get their hands on at least one coke in their life. similarly, almost everyone know Mickey and co. of Disney. No one has ever thought that a cartoon movie would make it big on screen, winning the hearts of young and old. yet, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs did it in 1937. When Pinocchio finally made its debut in 1940, its so far the most expensive movie made at that time.

this is all because of the four factors that Walt Disney believed strongly in. Dream, Believe, Dare, Do. Dreams are sterile things unless dreamers make them come true. unshakable Belief is necessary before ideas evolve into innovation. Walt Disney Dares to risk- all sorts of risks to produce the best in entertainment circle. Do is knowing the thin line between adequate and excellent, the key lies in not compromising in its works.
checking out on their website is entering into another world of fantasy. i'll make it a dream to visit Disneyland soon, hopefully in Japan, with that oriental touch of Asia.

afresh!

first of all, this is something to give thanks for: "Lord, thank you so much for the morning rain!!!" wow, along with it, the cool breeze greeted me afresh to start the day. its been close to a month since i make the prayer of psalms 63: 1. all the recent happenings and learnings led me to remember this verse. today's a day after mid- week and i've learnt and came to realise quite a number of things, i'm grateful to God, He didn't pass me by.

during a shepherding time yesterday, as i come to the last point of a teaching, i was so reminded and convicted of the point. prayers and patience go hand in hand. there is always a tension between the reality and the ideality. its essential to align our passion with the reality of the current and God's timing. when we fail to understand God's timing, frustrations set in and choke up our passion. yet, a persevering person is a prayerful person who is also a patient person. can i wait? can i wait and trust God, knowing that He who gave me the conviction and vision will also be the One to help it come to pass? am i patient to wait and pray? will i persevere in my waiting and prayers?

at this, i want to salute our home church pioneers like our pastors, ps Ben, ps Dinah, ps Jeff, ps LO... our worship team, fenny, gerald and geoffery... they have shown what is perseverance and waiting on God's timing :)

Matthew 7: 28- 29, "When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed t his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law."

This verse spoke so aptly to me, as i listened to the bible during the morning.

last night, i was pondering over some thoughts with regards to leadership and authority. it is so true, that one's authority comes from the Word of God and putting faith into action. what can i say more, Lord, i just need more of your Word in my life, help me to lead by your Word and faith. Your Word gives courage.

its been a great and fun night of celebrating nicole's birthday and bbq-ing. saw many old pals and spent some quality time catching up on life. its relaxing. its great serving together in church, knowing that God is the one in the center of all ties. its just so enjoying! :)

today's team captain class was enjoying. it brought me back to the foundamental attitudes of being a servant of God, especially having the spirit of excellence and integrity. sometimes, we would do all we can to score well for the 30% individual essay in school or to do our best to clinch a big deal with our regular clients, in such cases, we do all we can. the church is bought at the highest price- Jesus. how much more must be go the extra mile and having spirit of excellence in serving His house! we win people's respect by our life of integrity. an honest thought came to my mind: "Why do people follow me?" what do they see in me that make them want to follow me? tonight's gonna be a sleepless night. its dangerous to think about vision of God and His church in the night, it gives you sleepless nights. hee.
gonna be sleepless night, because i'll be preparing for an in- class interview exercise tomorrow. pray for me.
caught fast food nation recently and sparked off a more conscious thought on the food i eat, especially with the processed food. i want to take better care of my health now.
i learnt a new swimming technique recently. its fun and i'm getting darker. tanlines' getting more obvious, to me.

She was my first shepherd. she brought me over from children church to high school ministry a decade ago. she literally watches me grow up! :) whenever the mention of her name, its really speechless and lost for words to affirm her. a constant listener and guide in my life.

the week before 1 July

30 jun: celebrated walz' birthday. went for supper with my group after that. it was a good time spent together and thanks to puay for a ride home too. appreciate the kind act.

29 jun: celebrated debbie's birthday with gwen, eevoon and dewen. it was really fun because i wanted to do something nice for debbie. she has been encouraging me and sharing her life with me, and often our conversations together had left me feeling so refreshed and inspired, knowing that we are together in this ministry.

28 jun: ate a super nice japanese dinner with livi. i was very looking forward to this dinner. feeling excited, we talked and chatted and talked and chatted. i was glad that i can share with her the things going on in my life and got her to be my accountability pal when i go into working world next year.

27 jun: nursing a throbbing pain in my head. it really feels like a hammer knocking on the head. shared a huge packet of fried rice with philo over dinner. we just spent a good time talking over a huge plate of fruits and yammi yoghurt.

26 jun: a jog in sentosa. wa! felt very good after that.

25 jun: impactful sharing by kin wee on John 17 during wam vision night. seeing jiali in her jumper suit made my day too. not that she is cute (which is true in fact) only, but also seeing her and her team performing in the dance inspired me much. they were enjoying themselves!

24 jun: ate sushi tei with evelyn. sashimi with mango was good! :) more than that, enjoyed the time spent very much. she came back for a holiday before flying off to cairns for work. my group did a "boo" and here are some of the pictures.
