facebook is fun

something i've gotten from wendy's note in facebook:

something fun to read for those in relationships...

Ways to Regroup and Recover from an Emotional Disaster

1) Test the waters. Don't say a thing. Just give her a hug, or squeeze his knee or pat his hand. Sometimes the best things in life are unsaid.
2) Look for a positive sign 'Sure is nice weather today, huh?' Decide to have a positive attitude, and positive words will flow from it.
3) Try to encourage. Look for something that's good. Spontaneously list your spouse's best traits.
4) Look for the humor. A cheerful heart is good medicine (Prov 16:24)
5) Keep it in perspective. Just adapt and overcome. Before you raise the rood over your head over some issue, ask yourself ' Will this matter 10 years from now?'
6) Go to Plan B. Offer alternatives.
7) Walk it off. Vacating the premises sometimes gives God some space to quietly work on your spouse. God's healing and encouragement can be powerful.
8) Offer up a distraction.
9) Mia culpa. apologize.
10) Keep short accounts.Couples who choose to let the past reside in the past get a fresh start with each other regularly. COuples who let resentment build up find that even the smallest infractions can create major conflicts. "May we never forget what is worth remembering or remember what is best forgotten"
11) Pray!

Mr and Mrs Leong

"You may now........................... give a high 5 to her!" said pastor jeff.
everyone burst into laughter.
that almost mis-led us to play the track "i finally found someone"for the kissing part.
still, the kiss has to be done, so pastor jeff said another time, this time for real, for the lips to meet.

many many thanks to all who are in the wedding preparation team. my heartfelt thanks to roy, germs, gerald, eugene, livi, esmond, seng, cara, jasmine, yanyan, chris goh, etc...
i was a first- time wedding planner.
not forgetting the hotel crews as well. they helped me alot when i was frantically moving around in the ballroom and next program at my finger tip.

i look forward to more weddings, closer step to the wedding planner dream.
nonetheless, enjoy the pictures!

2 more days to another public holiday

i just met mei for lunch at my office building. mei just started on her new job at hitachi and her office building is next to mine. i am really thrilled to have her as my lunch partners now. office lunches wont be dull and blue anymore, yay!

roy smsed me in the morning to think of 3 things to give thanks.
1. my happy lunch with mei
2. no more headache today
3. boss on leave
yay! i want to count my blessings everyday.

today i continue to think about what shirls shared in ulm yesterday - concern and conviction.
Matt 9:36: "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them..."i had a good convo with gerald this morning also, about our conviction and vision. i am glad he had a good time at the thai camp. i'm praying this week to seek God for direction in my life and ministry. something that triggered my mind is the life of John the Baptist.

God is Love

God is indeed the true love.

Roy taught me today about this. disappointment is a sure thing we will experience in one way or another on earth. cant escape.
towards the end of convo, i am grateful to God for my dad. i desire to love him more despite his shortcomings. i admit i did struggled at the initial start when roy talked to me. yet, when i think about God's faithfulness all these years in my family, i cant respond in other ways other than being thankful towards Him. i smsed my dad that i am coming home to eat dinner with him because i know it is his off day.
i want to be soft towards God.

thanks roy, for speaking into my life. thanks for holding me and supporting me in my family.

Gwen Lee, Eevoon, Ruiz, Xinyi, Gwen Khoo, Jiayi, Veron, Yushan, Carmen, Lays, Yiyou, Jiali, Philo, Puay, Amelia.
joining together are Daixuan and Huiying.

they are gentle and giving. they serve with a spirit of excellence in ministry and love those under their care with a shepherd heart. yet, their faith and courage is big and their appetite to fulfill the vision is huge!
girls,
let your work be produced by faith,
your labor be prompted by love and
your endurance be inspired by hope.

roy's dad birthday

with all the cousins
we celebrated roy's father 60th birthday today. it was a happy occasion. food was nice, gathered with a few relatives as well. my first time to meet rendy's brother and his girl friend too.

before the birthday celebration, roys and i were at wilfred and nicole's wedding rehearsal. its my first time at it. an eye-opener at how things are done during a wedding. chris, guan long, gerald, cara, shirls, yan, elaine, jasmine, allan were present too.

before the wedding rehearsal, had minops caregroup. really want to affirm my great team, especially the ministry leaders and band leaders. i want to constantly be reminded of our prayer made together. i want to fight a good fight, to finish the race, to keep the faith.

ending my night with this worship song:
"amazing grace how sweet the sound
that save a wretch like me.....
i once was lost but now am found
was blind but now i see...."

before i hit the pillow, i'm thankful for roys. his great patience towards me has moved me many times. we have our fair share of squabbles, yet, each time, i'm grateful for his understanding and patience towards me. his commitment in this.

happiest lunch of the week

Psalms 144: 3
O LORD, what is man that you care for him,
the son of man that you think of him?

i think its a good habit i can meditate on a verse every morning, on my way to work. today is on this. it led me to give thanks to God and i am grateful for friday today (amen!) and a cool weather to start the day with.

today i had lunch with the fellow Hope gang who work around my workplace. most of them are from HP. it was planned by CN and it was a good time of knowing new friends like addy, KK, chris, bernard and shihui. i am happy. its my happiest lunch of this week. we talked about our groups and i excitedly told them that i am going adults camp for the first time. yay. i will get to see them in adults camp this june. CN talked about his honeymoon in Syria and Jordon and he just emailed us his honeymoon photos. he is husband to Christine. oh and i had claypot chicken rice, it was nice. so happy. counting my blessings too, this morning to work, i managed to get to hougang mrt station before the rain poured and the sky was clear when i exit harborfront mrt station to wait for my company bus. happy again.

i had a funny dream last night. i dreamt about our youth praise and worship time tomorrow. we are expecting 2 Hope overseas guests. i dreamt about the anicipation for praise and worship to start, atmosphere and excitement were building up fast, people were clapping and looking to the stage, i remembered in my dream daniel and gwen were so excited and encouraging the crowd... it was so anticipating!! and then........ my alarm rang......... -_-" i was so disappointed when i woke up cause i didnt get to see the start of it. funny dream. i concluded that firstly, i have not seen the 2 overseas guests, thus its hard to dream of them right? cannot anyhow put any face... haha. secondly, i'm certain that tomorrow will be a big blast in praise and worship time! :D the dream is like an encouragement to me, to expect God's presence in His house, among His people. yumz!

once at Holland V

the ex-axis gang met up last night for a time of catchup. organized by mr liew, it almost achieved full attendance - 99%. mr YDL (aka Yao Dao Le, which means "i'm coming soon") Daryl couldn't join in as he had a meeting with his people at woodlands.
this is the gang that worked hard together, played hard together, very broke together and eat our usual beehoon stall at holland v after meetings.
we have our fair shares of jokes and boo-boos. ask elise who is mr roger. ask daryl when an unexpected sound was made during one of the dmms at ex- central hq. ask daniel his favorite worship song (a clue: "under the shadow of your wings..."). ask ethan about his once in a blue moon encounters. well, the rest of us are pretty plain and normal.

these people formed part of my most fun and favorite moments in student life.

"in quietness and trust is your strength..."
Isaiah 30: 15

when things get overwhelming...
when burdens get too heavy to carry...
when countless thoughts invade the mind...
when road seems rocky to travel...

yes, those are the times where the above verse is a reminder buzz. it calls for no need for flustered-ness to seep in or behaving like ants on a hot pot.

it requires one to be quiet before Him and place full trust in His hands.

what should i eat tomorrow?

30 more minutes and i'm off from work. these days been quite free at work. helped my boss with some adhoc tasks and thats it. i'm found switching between my gmail page and my office mail from time to time. at times, i will initiate some msn conversations, most of the time is mei mei. she is currently slacking *woops* i meant relaxing at home, enjoying anime especially her recent craze "Nana". hahaha. she kept bugging me to watch it. i'll turn to her and give the -_-" expression. well, i love animes. just that have not found the time and energy to sit down obediently in front of the screen and watch them. oowww.... at this, i terribly miss naruto. okay, i shall be determined to catch up on naruto this weekend. talking about that, i have this question in my head for sometimes:
How did Jesus maximise his time while He was on earth?
i really want to learn about it. i want to know how did he do it. He has his family, he also have ministry work to do, he had 12 sheeps to shepherd, he performed miracles, he did house visits, he had to travel long hours on foot (or donkey? i think on foot la, cause i guess most of his allowance should be giving to his family, his sheeps and the people) in order to do house visits, he visited weddings, he talked with women and little children, many many..... and going to the cross. okay, as humans, sinful humans, i do not need to do the last one, because Jesus did it. back to the main thing, How did Jesus maximise his time??? i shall go think and ponder and pray and ponder and think more...
ohh, i remembered about this post title. there is only one canteen in the entire comtech building where it housed employees from DBS, HSBC, HP and other players. perhaps fellow working people in industrial areas would be able to identify with this: i can memorized all the food stalls and their pricings (eat in or pack away) by now. haha! everyday i will ask: what should i eat today? to the point, i do not enjoy eating the food her anymore. i even had thoughts to bring my own lunch to office. things like cup noodles? haha. not healthy leh... how about sandwiches? but i ate bread for every morning, except weekends (i demand to eat beehoon or chee cheong fan for breakfast on weekends. haha)
anyone has creative ideas on lunches? :) :)
okay, its almost 520pm. i am clocking out soon. bye for now!
