"when Jesus heard what has happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. when Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick." matthew 14: 13- 14
what happened earlier on was that John was beheaded. John was someone close to Jesus. Jesus knew him as a close brother and friend. his death affected Jesus and that's why Jesus drew away on his own to pray or talk to God. it just reminded me that similarly, there were times when i heard about news that bothers me alittle. yet, what kind of spirit ooze out of me when i'm needed to attended to people or matters? do i turn people away when i'm down? do i respond with a negative spirit? in this case, Jesus never did. in fact, Jesus was troubled, yet he did not turn the people away and ministered to their needs.
met with gwen and zinc over a nice japanese dinner (gyoza rocks!) at cuppage. it was just so relaxing to hang out with good friends. went for wam night after a very full meal. am thankful for a great time of sharing in the stage manager training. it was good to share our thoughts and rough out ideas and suggestions for more growth in our programming ministry. as i rest my head on my pillow tonight, i'm so charged up by vision and dreams in programming. discussing with the fellow stage managers and event programmers make me so excited about what we are doing in our ministries. reaching for excellence is knowing that yesterday's service standard is the minimal benchmark for tomorrow's event.
all ears: the silence of the night
