essential is brewing!

finally, we have some good decent photos taken together!!! *cheers* i was out with my the other CG last sunday at holland V's essential brew. since we are on such a celebrative mood, i shall intro this wacky bunch of CG people here.
needless to say, we are in the hands of our CL- shirlsmel. *shirls' evil laughter* *dennis running around, frantically* *the rest watched in bored amusement*
okay, back to shirls. yes, she has been the CL of this group since God- knows- when? actually i know la, since she took over the pastoral care of the youth ministry. in fact, she mothers the whole youth ministry!
next is rui ping aka sharlene aka sorry (x100) queen. the dudes enjoy teasing her sorry sorry mannerism. nonetheless, sharlene is a very simple person who lives simply and she truly love the people around her alot.
next to shar is zinc aka ziying. ex- chij tpy girl, she is a very strong woman. firmly rooted in WOG, she leads the northern area of singapore. one of my close pals around. o ya! her handicraft scores 101 marks!
next to zinc is yours truly. okay, lets move on.
it is clearly seen that the dudes really love our birthday boy, gideon ng. previously known as ambrose, he specialises in social work and he enjoys working with the youths.
the one posing cool-ly in red is raphael. he leads the biggest portion now- the jc ministry. raph speaks kindly and gently, esp to sisters. a humble guy who speaks very fast too.
next to raph is dennis loh chang kiat who is the second youth pastoral staff in Hope Singapore office. loh is mad about Jesus and vision. he dreams big for God. he is so uniquely made by His Maker, that we just love him the way he is. hahaha!
my ex c0-laborer in west is dewen aka solowen. he enjoys tennis matches and also into the recent hit movie- secret by Jay chou. dewen is a great armor bearer and a fun friend to be around with.
introducing my upcoming dec camp commander- daniel cheah aka xiao key. his nickname has a long history. he has a pair of twin sisters and he simply dotes on them! yes, admit it, daniel, you are indeed a family man :)

to end this post, win the youths today; win the world tomorrow.

my two jias

haha! introducing my two jias- jiali and jiayi. *clap clap* anyway, its been really enjoying with the both of them, they really bless my days with laughters and smiles. the usual cool cool mashimaro also has her side of gentleness and corny-ness. as for queen bee, the usual wacky and siao siao gurl has her side of seriousness and deep in thought moments too. both are so different in styles and personalities, yet, they are my beloved team who are passionate about their ministries and very pastoral leaders to their volunteers! blessed to have them :)

16 August 2007 Thursday 7:04 A.M.

my first sunrise in my life. i caught it at changi beach. while waiting for the sunrise, around 4 SIA planes and 1 budget plane flew past, preparing for landing on our diamond- shaped island.

it was calm at first sight. i was happy that i did something out- of- the- ordinary. it breathed freshness into my soul.
how about you? when was the last time you did something out- of- the- ordinary? it will be a new encounter. it will be a refreshing moment. try it.

shirley ruth tamar

tears welled up in my eyes as i watched and listened to shirls' teaching during the last weekend's clm. i was so filled with memories of thanksgiving and gratitude. i am so thankful and grateful for being in the youth ministry. i can still vividly recalled the dinner at far east level 5 with shirls, tamar and ruth 7 years ago when we first got together in high school central group. i remembered how i first came under shirls and how i grew up under her leadership. the one thing i am so blessed is the belief she has in me. this belief she has in me has grown me and nurtured to where i am now.
anyway, thanks dewen for the msn chat. he called me silly shuz. today i just have this prayer wish... to know and be more involved. friends, involve me yea? :)

This Love

What kind of love is this
That climbs the hill
That bears the cross
That takes the nails
What kind of love is this
That takes my place
That gives His life
And clears my name
Oh, I want to know
What kind of love is this

It's wonderful

It's glorious
It's full of grace
And full of mercy
Powerful
It's marvelous
That's what this love is
That's what God's love is

What kind of love is this

That cries alone
That tastes of death
To bring me home
Oh, I want to know
What kind of love this is
What kind of love is this

That fills my soul
That lifts me up
And makes me whole

What kind of love is this
That gives me hope
That dries my tears
And brings me joy
Oh, I want to know
What kind of love this is

Jesus, Jesus

He's full of grace
And full of mercy
Jesus, my Jesus
This is what love is
That's what God's love is

It started with a mouse

last thurday i had a slow and relaxed night at orchard library doing my usual reading. took a business book on Walt Disney. Walt Disney has been a very successful company. It has made its name a familiar household name. its like Coca cola's vision- everyone has to get their hands on at least one coke in their life. similarly, almost everyone know Mickey and co. of Disney. No one has ever thought that a cartoon movie would make it big on screen, winning the hearts of young and old. yet, Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs did it in 1937. When Pinocchio finally made its debut in 1940, its so far the most expensive movie made at that time.

this is all because of the four factors that Walt Disney believed strongly in. Dream, Believe, Dare, Do. Dreams are sterile things unless dreamers make them come true. unshakable Belief is necessary before ideas evolve into innovation. Walt Disney Dares to risk- all sorts of risks to produce the best in entertainment circle. Do is knowing the thin line between adequate and excellent, the key lies in not compromising in its works.
checking out on their website is entering into another world of fantasy. i'll make it a dream to visit Disneyland soon, hopefully in Japan, with that oriental touch of Asia.

afresh!

first of all, this is something to give thanks for: "Lord, thank you so much for the morning rain!!!" wow, along with it, the cool breeze greeted me afresh to start the day. its been close to a month since i make the prayer of psalms 63: 1. all the recent happenings and learnings led me to remember this verse. today's a day after mid- week and i've learnt and came to realise quite a number of things, i'm grateful to God, He didn't pass me by.
during a shepherding time yesterday, as i come to the last point of a teaching, i was so reminded and convicted of the point. prayers and patience go hand in hand. there is always a tension between the reality and the ideality. its essential to align our passion with the reality of the current and God's timing. when we fail to understand God's timing, frustrations set in and choke up our passion. yet, a persevering person is a prayerful person who is also a patient person. can i wait? can i wait and trust God, knowing that He who gave me the conviction and vision will also be the One to help it come to pass? am i patient to wait and pray? will i persevere in my waiting and prayers?
at this, i want to salute our home church pioneers like our pastors, ps Ben, ps Dinah, ps Jeff, ps LO... our worship team, fenny, gerald and geoffery... they have shown what is perseverance and waiting on God's timing :)

It is Your Word

Matthew 7: 28- 29, "When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed t his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law."
This verse spoke so aptly to me, as i listened to the bible during the morning.
last night, i was pondering over some thoughts with regards to leadership and authority. it is so true, that one's authority comes from the Word of God and putting faith into action. what can i say more, Lord, i just need more of your Word in my life, help me to lead by your Word and faith. Your Word gives courage.
